Elders

Mark Condolora

Mark was born in Syracuse, NY and grew up just outside the city, in Lyncourt. He was raised in a typical Italian family and would often walk or ride his bike to the local Catholic church on Sundays. A lifelong resident of the area, Mark attended Bishop Grimes High School and Syracuse University where he received a BS in Computer Engineering.

While attending SU, he started reading the Bible and attending Bible studies sponsored by various denominations. Soon Mark began studying the Bible with members of the Eastside Church of Christ and was baptized into Jesus in the summer of 1980. Mark met his wife Linda while both were performing for many years in the Lyncourt community band. They have two children (Stacey and David) that they home schooled and are graduates of Harding University, and they have two grandchildren - Julia and James.

The Condolora family became members of the Wetzel Road church in 1995. Mark served as a Deacon starting in 2000 and became an Elder in 2005. Mark works for Syracuse Research Corporation as Assistant Vice President in the radar engineering department. He teaches adult Bible classes at the church and Linda leads ladies classes at the church building and at home.

Ed Grant

Ed was born in Fulton, NY and raised in Mexico, NY on a 150-acre dairy farm. There he developed a love for the outdoors, God’s wonderful creation, and for serving and working as an extended family. As a child, Ed attended Methodist churches in Fulton and Mexico. In January of 1976, a teen friend invited him to visit the Oswego Church of Christ. As a result of that visit, Ed began attending the Oswego church regularly and was immersed into Christ in April of that year.

Ed graduated from Mexico High school in 1981 and went on to earn an A.A. Degree from Northeastern Christian Junior College (1983), B.A. Psychology from Oswego State (1989), M.S. Ed. Communication Disorders (1990) and a Master of Divinity in Christian Ministry from Amridge University (2007).

Ed married Jeannie Himes in June of 1984. They have three adult children (Sarah, Rachel, and Andrew) who have given them two wonderful sons-in-law, a wonderful daughter-in-law and four amazing grandsons.

Ed and Jean worshiped with the Oswego Church of Christ for over 35 years before moving to the Wetzel Road Church of Christ.

Ed and Jean are now retired from full-time teaching in the public schools but still LOVE working with children. They teach Preschool Bible classes together at church, adult in-home Bible studies, and serve with the Wetzel Road congregation and at Camp Hunt.

David Owens

David Owens was born and raised in Syracuse, New York and is second oldest in a family of ten children.  Throughout his childhood, David's family worshipped with Methodist churches, but around age 11, he and his family began attending the Southside Church of Christ, and Camp Hunt.  On July 31, 1974, David made a profession of faith in Christ and was immersed in water for the forgiveness of sins.

After graduating in 1979 from Fayetteville-Manlius High School, and having a heart for ministry, David earned degrees from Northeastern Christian Junior College (A.A.), Harding University (B.A.) and Harding Graduate School of Religion (M.A.R.).  David Owens and the former Diana Olbricht were married in 1983 and they have three daughters.  Having completed his Bachelor's degree, David began serving as the associate minister of the College Avenue Church of Christ in El Dorado, Arkansas.

In 1987, with his schooling behind him and some experience under his belt, David returned to New York to serve the Wetzel Road Church of Christ.  In the years that have transpired, David has ministered to the congregation as an evangelist and now is also serving as one of the elders.
