Leadership and Staff
Due to my mother's influence, I became a Christian when I was 11 years old. Without a Church of Christ in our small, West Virginia coal mining town, I attended the Methodist church until I was in the 11th grade. After wandering in my faith, I renewed my commitment to Christ. I began to be active in a small church and attended a Baptist college. It was at this school that I met Joyce. Upon graduating, we were married and both began attending the University of Florida. We grew in Christ as we learned more and more of His love. After I came to Syracuse in 1968 to work for General Electric, we became part of the Wetzel Road church family. Our children, Scott, Susan and Alan grew up in this church. They all now have Christian families of their own and their faithfulness is a great joy to us. I retired in 1991 to become a fulltime shepherd. God continues to greatly bless us as we seek to serve Him.
"As a community of believers, we joyfully offer ourselves to God, so that His mission of reconciliation in Christ, transformation by the Holy Spirit, and loving service to humanity may be carried out through us."
