Leadership and Staff
David Owens was born and raised in Syracuse, New York and is second oldest in a family of ten children. Throughout his childhood, David's family worshipped with Methodist churches, but around age 11, he and his family began attending the Southside Church of Christ, and Camp Hunt. On July 31, 1974, David made a profession of faith in Christ and was immersed in water for the forgiveness of sins. After graduating in 1979 from Fayetteville-Manlius High School, and having a heart for ministry, David earned degrees from Northeastern Christian Junior College (A.A.), Harding University (B.A.) and Harding Graduate School of Religion (M.A.R.). David Owens and the former Diana Olbricht were married in 1983 and they have three daughters. Having completed his Bachelor's degree, David began serving as the associate minister of the College Avenue Church of Christ in El Dorado, Arkansas. In 1987, with his schooling behind him and some experience under his belt, David returned to New York to serve the Wetzel Road Church of Christ. In the years that have transpired, David has ministered to the congregation as an evangelist and now is also serving as one of the elders.
"As a community of believers, we joyfully offer ourselves to God, so that His mission of reconciliation in Christ, transformation by the Holy Spirit, and loving service to humanity may be carried out through us."
